I had a craving for beans so I made chili with beans. Kidney beans and black beans both have 17 net carbs per half cup, so they’re definitely an occasional treat.

fat from ch0rizo, or whatever fat you like

1 1/2 lbs ground beef

1 onion, diced

2 cups diced tomatoes

3 Tbsp chili powder, or to taste

19 oz can kidney or black beans, rinsed and drained

2 green bell peppers, diced

salt and pepper

hot sauce

Fry the onion in the fat until soft. Add the chili powder and fry for another minute. Add the ground beef and continue frying until it’s browned. Add the tomatoes, chili powder, kidney beans, and bell peppers. Bring to a simmer. Taste, and add salt, pepper, chili powder, and hot sauce as needed. Simmer for 30 minutes or until everything is as thick and cooked as you’d like. Eat.
