I had some squid in the freezer and decided to do this with it. It turned out well.
1 lb squid tubes, thawed, outer membrane removed, and sliced into rings
red wine vinegar
Toss the squid with a bit of red wine vinegar, olive oil, and pepper.
Preheat the broiler.
Arrange the squid on a rack over a baking sheet. After the broiler is preheated, broil the squid on the second rack from the top for 4 minutes.
Sprinkle shichimi on the squid and eat it. (I ate half. I’ll probably eat the other half with mayo tomorrow.)
