I made a simplified version of this recipe. I put the cabbage and onions in the slow cooker insert without first cooking them. I seasoned both sides of 2 lbs of pork shoulder chops with homemade seasoning salt. (Equal parts black pepper, garlic, onion, salt, and paprika.) Then I browned the pork chops in a cast iron frying pan. I put the pork chops on top of the vegetables. I added about 1 cup of marsala to the pan and scraped up all the tasty bits, then poured it into the slow cooker. I cooked everything on high for about 4 hours and came home from curling to a delicious lunch.

I will try the recipe as it was written sometime, but the quick version I had time for was also good.
