Buttered nuts

While trying to figure out how to transform the raw almonds I normally buy into delicious salted nuts, I found that most recipes call for oil to get the salt to stick. I decided to use butter instead. Eating these, I wish I’d used walnuts so that there’d be more nooks and crannies to hold the butter and salt. (Yes, I miss buttered popcorn sometimes.)

~1 cup raw almonds or walnuts

1 Tbsp. butter

salt

Roast the nuts in a 325 degree oven for 10 minutes. Add the butter and stir until it is melted. Salt to taste. (I recommend tasting the nuts and adding a bit more salt than you think you need because some will fall off. Continue roasting, stirring every 5 minutes, until they taste the way you would like. Cool and store in a covered container.
