Last night, I ordered the vegetarian plate at Arabesque. I skipped the pita and ate the yalanjee despite the rice. (As far as I can tell, they’re the same as dolmadas – rice wrapped in grape leaves and slowly cooked in oil and lemon juice. Fatsecret says 9 net carbs for 3, which I don’t mind.) I chose the Jerusalem salad (tomatoes, cucumber, parsley, lemon juice, garlic, and tahini sauce). The dish also comes with not breaded, fried eggplant, bell peppers, cauliflower, and falafel.

In any case, the meal was delicious but after estimating the amounts and typing it into fatsecret I do think it’s one I might be better sharing or taking some home or planning my carbs earlier in the day a bit better.
