For as long as I can remember, I’ve preferred to sleep a lot – 9 hours left me happier than 8. I’m finding that eating LCHF I’m waking up after 8 hours feeling refreshed. This is an exciting development.

I know that alcohol makes me sleep for longer – when I have more than 1 drink, I try to allow myself 10 or more hours of sleep or else I feel groggy. I wonder if carbohydrates have a similar effect on me but I didn’t notice because I ate loads of them every day. (Picking a day in December (before LCHF) when I tracked my eating on fatsecret, I ate 310 net carbs, so I’ve probably reduced the carbs in my diet by 65% or more.)
